This SAT math prep video course is the perfect balance of accountability and flexibility that so many home school students look for. The personalized study plan will keep you on track with daily assignments and manageable chunks of content. But work can be completed at your own pace with no live class to attend. It is a great option for the highly motivated home school student or those with a crowded schedule.
I added this self-paced section because so many students were struggling to make the live sessions work. Students provide information about their math background at the beginning of the class. Their study plan is developed based on their goal score and how much time they have allocated to study. Study plans are broken down into manageable chunks to help students study consistently.
The following elements are included in this course:
- 3 months access to the course website
- A 7-week study plan tailored to the student’s needs and goals
- Over 30 original instructional videos that teach and review SAT math content
Note: My goal in offering this section is to be as flexible as possible. Please reach out to me with any concerns. If at all possible, I’ll tailor the study plan and the course to fit your needs. I also offer a live section of this course three times a year.
All of the materials referenced on the study plan are provided on the course website or are available for free at Khan Academy. Time will be spent reviewing more than 30 instructional videos I created as well as practicing problems daily. Automated quizzes serve as checkpoints during the course. By the end of the course, students will be familiar with the testing format and will have reviewed the fundamental concepts in Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, and Trigonometry.
Who should enroll?
Students in grades 8-12 who wish to complete the course at their own pace are welcome to enroll.
- High speed, broadband Internet
- Sound card and microphone (for live sessions)
- Streaming video capabilities to watch recorded lectures
- TI-83 graphing calculator (strongly recommended)
