Course Description: This course introduces students to the need for good nutrition in physical and mental wellness. Students will assess the benefits of sound nutrition and fitness practices and apply these principles to their daily lives. The processes of digestion and absorption, metabolism, and nutrition guidelines will be investigated. The role of nutrition in health promotion and disease prevention will be discussed in relation to personal health choices. Hands-on activities will comprise approximately 25% of course time.
