Course Description

Course Description: Are you planning to take Precalculus with Statistics, and want to brush up your Algebra 2  skills? In this seven-week course, Algebra 2 Review will review the major topics and strengthen the skills from Algebra 2, including functions, modeling and transformations, sequences and series, systems of equations, polynomials, exponentials, logarithms, rational exponents and roots, matrices, and basic trigonometry. Students will build confidence by in-class practice and refresh their comprehension of topics by watching video tutorials.  Each week,  pre-recorded videos are provided, followed by weekly live problem-solving sessions.  No book is required for this course — all worksheets, activities and solutions will be provided by the teacher.

Who should apply: The well-prepared applicant is familiar has completed an Algebra 2 course and has the maturity to diligently complete the assigned homework and seek additional help when needed.  Learning how to learn mathematics is stressed in this course, so students who are motivated to improve should apply.

Streaming video capabilities to watch recorded lectures

Weekly assignments are downloaded as PDF files from the website.

A scanner is required so that students can scan their completed work and upload it to the website for grading.

Required Texts:

No book is required for this course; all worksheets, activities and solutions will be provided by the teacher.


This course will have daily and module assignments. Daily assignments will  consist of watching a video, answering questions based on the video, and electronic homework quizzes of short-answer and essay questions.  Module assignments will be a “Questions” submission indicating problems or topics where the student needs extra help, scanned notes and a module worksheet for which students will show all handwritten work, scan and upload the completed pdf file.  Personalized responses will go over the questions that students have submitted for that module.  Two bigger evaluations will be assigned, each covering half of the course, that students will complete in pencil, then scan and upload for grading.


Students will be graded on notes, homework quizzes and tests. Submitted student work will be graded and returned within one week of the due dates.  Outside of class times, student may contact the teacher using the Canvas messages with any questions or concerns.


Grades are perpetually available throughout the course and parents may contact me through Canvas messages on the course website. Parents are encouraged to oversee the work of their student for timeliness and completeness.

Susan Habacivch

Susan Habacivch earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from Washington University and a BA in French from Regis College. After working for several years in the fibers industry, she began homeschooling her four children in 2003. She has been tutoring and teaching science and mathematics in local coops since 2003 and has been teaching online since 2010.
