Course Description
The course is limited to 12 students.
If you’re looking for a way to stay ‘connected’ to French during the summer, this course might be what you’re looking for. This will be an informal conversation group that will use guided activities to develop French conversation skills. We will meet one hour/per week for 7 weeks. Topics will come from student suggestions, along with teacher-guided structure and activities. All levels of French are welcome to join in; students must have had at least an equivalent of one year of French or are currently enrolled in a French 1 class.
Students do not have to be enrolled in Aim Academy French classes. They must have had at least an equivalent of one year of French or be currently enrolled in a French 1 class.
Past topics have included:
- autour de la ville (around town)
- les voyages (traveling)
- les loisirs (leisure activities)
- les musées/ le zoo (visits to museums and zoos)
- la culture francaise (French culture)
- la science, l’art, l’histoire (science, art, history)
Course Structure
We will have a one-hour weekly live meeting. There will be no homework for this class, only come with a desire to speak in French. Online games/ word games, authentic articles, and images that promote communication are used to facilitate our conversation.
Who should enroll?
This course is idea for student who have completed at least French 1. French 1 or French 2 students are welcome. This is not an introduction to French course, so at least one year of French is needed for the student.
Technology Requirements
- High speed, broadband Internet
- Web cam, sound card, and microphone (for live sessions)
- Streaming video capabilities to watch recorded lectures
Evaluation and Feedback
This class will not be graded. Students will receive a certificate showing their participation.
Communication
Students and teachers are encouraged to email the teacher whenever they have a question or concern. The teacher will will respond within 24 hours.
