Dr. Wm Habacivch

 

William Habacivch is a founding member of Sandbox Industries Inc. (SII) a non- profit  company focusing on retooling, repurposing and redirecting veterans to accomplish new missions by training them to create self-employment opportunities. SII is an intense twenty-five week immersion program into entreprenuership. The program began at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa. and has moved to Messiah University in Mechanicsburg, Pa., (see  https://sandboxindustries.org/) where a new cohort of veteran entrepreneurs will begin the fall term 2021.

Prior to teaching business formation and economics at the college and university level, Dr. Habacivch launched and operated a number of small businesses in central Pennsylvania, helping to create hundreds of jobs.  He holds a Ph.D. from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in Administration and Leadership studies. The program is housed in the departments of Sociology and Economics. Additionally, he earned a Masters of Arts degree in Economics from Temple University, and a Bachelors of Science in Economics from The University of South Carolina.

Dr. Habacivch was a member of two United States Marine Corps, Gold Medal winning infantry Super Squads (1982 and 1983) attaining the rank of Sergeant of Marines. At this writing  he is married thirty six years to his wife, Susan. Together they have five incredible children and one granddaughter sharing hearth, home and field with the world’s best bird dog, a vizsla named Ruby.
